Spent Valentines day with laogong. We had a simple dinner at Delifrance and after which we catched a movie at GV JP.
Finally got to watch the show I've been waiting to catch for sometime.
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"
Great show! It is not one of those shallow, give-it-a-laugh show which after watching, you would probably not remember the plot in a few days time.
Gave me some after thoughts.....
Laogong said the ending was sad, hmmm.... but if from another perspective, I think that is the natural way for it to end and he did not live in vain.
After all, he has found his one true love who stayed with him till the very end.
But of course, he has to suffer the fate of watching everyone close to him passing away, such as his adoptive mother, his maternal father and those elderly who taught him skills, such as playing piano etc. All of whom eventually passed away....
But what I think is that this happens to everyone, and not just because he was born old and gets younger as he age....
Sounds confusing?? Haha... Watch it and you will know exactly what I'm talking about.
What I mean is that for all of us, we will eventually see the passing away of our grandparents, parents etc... sound sad but this is part and parcel of life....
I mean just like what the movie tries to depict, if we do not lose those whom we love dearly, how can we treasure what we have and how can they seem to be more precious to us.
Sound profound? Actually its pretty simple.
Someone said in the movie (Can't remember whom) "That nuthing last forever"
How true... material and physical things = nuthing last forever.
Only true love, true feelings and true relationships last forever. So treasure whoever are dearest to you.
